With 15+ years in the maritime industry as a naval architect, Akshay has worked with international ship owners across South Korea, the Netherlands, China, UAE, and Singapore. He is an expert at recognizing design and engineering challenges faced by the industry. In 2007, Akshay co-founded Vedam Design, a new age engineering company that provides modern technical solutions and efficient, scalable outsourcing options for the maritime industry. It has offices in India, UAE, and the Netherlands, and has customers in over 40 countries.

Akshay has been active in angel investing for a few years now and has invested in six startups in the consumer and engineering domains. In the past, he co-founded Belita, an on-demand tech-enabled beauty services startup, and sold it to Enrich Salons, a premium multi-city salon chain.

An engineer from IIT-Madras, Akshay is an avid traveller and an adventure sports enthusiast. He loves to discuss operations, strategy, innovations, customer satisfaction, and business processes.
